Just came back from Dublin, Ireland with Babsi. Wow. It was my first time in Ireland, and I have to say it certainly won't be my last! This country has so much beauty and landscape to offer. Our hotel overlooked the Dublin Bay. Babsi and I went shopping, went to the beach, learned how the bus system works (evidently sitting down at the bus stop isn't enough of a hint to pull over. You have to actually wave the bus down like a taxi...), we went to a few different pubs and two small "clubs", had a delicious Irish dinner and breakfast, and saw the Irish Riverdance. That in itself was quite amazing. The singers had beautiful voices and the dancing...how do you move your feet so fast?! :) It was lovely.
So...here are some pictures now. Enjoy!!
The view from the hotel window :-)
The hotel (I loved the look of it with the old wooden doors)
Dublin Bay
I was soaked...It rained all the time in Dublin (but at least it was way cooler than Germany) ;)
The little "Hobbit houses" xD
There were so many pubs. We didn't have a chance to go to all of them (there are way too many for 1 night...) but I took a picture of some of the nice ones
Found a Hard Rock in Dublin! Got a nice shirt too ;-)
Downtown
I found more Reese's! They're my favorite candy and you can't find them in Germany unfortunately. I enjoyed this on our flight home :-)
Okay, so I found these sweaters for small dogs...I had to take a picture. American Apparel if anyone is interested xD
There are some parts of this amazing city that are just so rustic and vibrant
Two story shopping mall (didn't have many decent stores however. All of the good shops are on the main street ;-)
This is the Gaiety Theater, where Babsi and I saw Riverdancing. It's quite old-fashioned :-)
So this is the business school that my University partners with. Its actually in the perfect location, right down town. I'm still considering my 4th semester there... :D
This is a way to get someone's attention ^^
The Dublin Castle <3
I swear this place looks just like the candy shop from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...I keep meaning to look that up. It was so freaky.
I love the architecture of this building. It looks like a huge ship. So cool
The downtown trainstation
Inside a double-decker bus (they drive on the wrong side of the road in Ireland too! It was so trippy! And so difficult to cross the road when you aren't used to it...)
A really nice hotel...I can't even imagine how much one night costs there...
Inside the Gaiety Theater
Some of the good 'ol Irish beer ;-)
Inside an Irish pub
A traditional Irish breakfast consisted of: baked beans, sausage, toast, and eggs ;-)
This is one of the bus stops, but I had to take a picture because of the Irish name. Everything was written in both Irish and English. I felt like I was in the Lord of the Rings ^^
The Guinness museum :-) Not only did we learn about the beer and "how to drink it correctly", we also got a delicious free pint!
One of Guinness' old advertisements. A fish riding a bicycle. Quite humorous :D
I attempted... xD
The next few pictures are a view of Dublin from the top of the Guinness Tower :-)
Last beer in Ireland!
